Six Hundred New Names for the Big Bang is a winding narrative that takes the audience on a journey through time and place. The piece traces the history of the legendary Chicago nightclub, Cave of the Winds, a highly eccentric physics professor, and Edgar Allen Poe’s bewildering treatise on the cosmos to tell the charming and bizarre tale of how two artists fell in love. Visiting Sicily, Chicago, Milwaukee, Baltimore, and even outer space, the audience is transported by seemingly random and serendipitous events with a sublime musical score weaving the story together.

Parking can be difficult; please allow ample time for travel and parking. All lots and street parking are city owned and operated. Please read parking signs carefully. The Den is not responsible for violations received for parking. If you do not show up on time for a show, you may not be allowed entry. We strongly encourage you to plan to arrive 30 minutes prior to the start time to ensure you avoid any issues with seating.
